Richard started in the film and television industry in 1990, working as a camera assistant for a busy Auckland production company. He was fortunate to
work under some of the most experienced Directors of Photography in New Zealand.
In 1992, he stepped up to work as Studio Manager and Director of Photography. During this time Richard shot a huge range of television commercials, T.V. programmes, documentaries and promotional videos, for clients like Vodafone, Tip Top, the National Heart Foundation, Hugh Wright, Hong Kong Bank, ColourSteel, Air New Zealand, ASB Bank, Benjamin Moore, Sony and many others.
